Coimbra is a relatively small city and many points of interest, such as the University of Coimbra and the Historic Center, are within walking distance of each other. Despite the slopes and the heat in July, walking around the city can be a pleasant experience.

There is also the option of getting around by bus, with tickets that can be bought directly from the driver when boarding, at a cost of 2 euros per trip.
