VIII Media Ethics

The 8th edition of Media Ethics is a scientific initiative of the Intracom Network, which brings together groups and people researching communication ethics in Europe and Latin America, expanding to other geographies. The event will take place in Coimbra on July 9, 10, 11 and 12, 2024, with the first two days dedicated to online communications and the others to face-to-face sessions. The event is a partnership between the Portuguese universities of Coimbra and Minho (Braga), the Federal University of Santa Catarina (Brazil) and the University of Seville (Spain).

With the theme, "The ethics of communication in the era of artificial intelligence", Media Ethics aims to think about the crisis of mediation, the crisis of the media and the crisis of democracy, at a paradoxical time when we have the possibility of global communication and unprecedented modes of civic participation.

We invite colleagues from different disciplines to reflect together on the model of society created by these new communication processes.
